Susan G. McKay has been known by all as McKay since she first relocated to Atlanta in the 1970´s. At that time she had a thriving career in the painting and remodeling field, which continued for 28 years. During this long career she restored and renovated many fine homes in Atlanta, including two of her own, learning valuable information about construction and renovating. In 1981 she purchased her first home in Grant Park, an Atlanta neighborhood in the beginning phase of revitalization. She has been very active in neighborhood projects, including many clean-ups and involvement in the Grant Park Neighborhood Association and recently the SAND Homeowner's Association, on various committees. In the mid-eighties she also merged a successful massage therapy practice with the other work she was doing.
All of these experiences brought McKay into Atlanta Real Estate. She loves working with people and helping them realize their dreams. Through a successful real estate agent friend she initiated her career. Once established she branched off on her own and has recently joined forces with ReMax Metro Atlanta. This office and the new satellite office, ReMax Metro East (located in the old Public Library in East Atlanta Villiage) have the most successful agents in Atlanta. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Realtors, a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors and has been a Million Dollar Club member since her first year. She has sold many homes in the intown neighborhoods with satisfied clients, referrals and return business. She especially enjoys working with first time home buyers, discovering their needs and objectives, then locating a home that meets those needs, and guiding them through the sometimes stressful process with as much ease as possible. Her knowledge of construction and renovation, as well as her relaxed nature working with people make her a truly informed and wonderful person to work with.
McKay also has many interests outside of her love of architecture including spending time with her dogs Mouse, Luna and Shiva and her two cats Zeta and Puja. She has been an organic gardener since the late 70´s and for many years she has been an avid bicycle rider in town as well as on extensive trips on country roads in the Southern States and many off-road trails as a mountain biker. Water gardening has become another hobby over the last five years, and she will never again be without a pond. |
