Welcome to Atlanta Real Estate community information page.  I will attempt to show you some of the high lights of the area.  Describing some demographics, school districts, employment opportunities and even a little history of Atlanta Real estate.

Home of Martin Luther King Jr. it is known as the city that is "Too Busy To Hate" and is the capital of Georgia. Atlanta was once a railroad boomtown and a focal point for the Civil War. Although the city was mostly destroyed in 1864 by the Union, it rose from the ashes and became the postwar capital of Georgia in 1868. Today the symbol of the Phoenix can be seen on the city flag.Atlanta is home to one of our nation´s busiest International Airports, the Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Here you can find a post office, over 200 concessions, restaurants and shops as well as air and ground transportation.

In 1996 the city became the first American Capital to host the Olympic Games and a major transformation took place in preparation for the games.City parks, sport facilities and transportation were generously upgraded.

The average temperature in July can reach a balmy 90 degrees while January is the coldest month at an average of 50 degrees. Occassionally the winter months can catch an air flow from the Gulf of Mexico making temperatures reach as high as 80 degrees. There are only a few inches of snow each year giving Atlanta all four seasons.

Population in the city was 394,929 in 2005 and the household median income was $39,752 which is about the national average. While the growth in metropolitan Atlanta has almost doubled to 4.2 million, the population in the city itself has remained about the same.

The city has emerged as a banking center and is the world headquarters for 22 Fortune 500 companies. These include, Home Depot , United Parcel Service , Coca Cola , and Equifax  just to name a few. The National Association of Women Business Owners  states that Georgia ranks number one for women-owned firms for growth and employment.

The Atlanta School District  is working hard to bring up scores and graduation rates throughout the system with a new Math Initiative to help strengthen student comprehension. With the support of the Wallace Fund  and the Bill & Melinda Gates  and Panasonic Foundations , and the community at large this school year promises to be a good one!You can find out the schools in your district by going to the website. The site includes a very comprehensive map of Atlanta and the local neighborhoods. 

Atlanta offers historic plantation type homes, luxury estates and modern single family dwellings as well as condominiums in all sizes. There is, as in most of the U.S. right now a great in-flux of homes on the market making it an ideal time for buyers to relocate to the area. Sellers are still mostly getting what they are asking for, however the homes seem to be staying on the market a little longer then anticipated. Job growth in the Atlanta Real Estate area is helping move new families and graduates to the area in record numbers.

If your looking for things to do in the area the Altanta Civic Center is a good place to start. Atlanta also has one of the longest running ballet groups in the country. Atlanta Opera ,  Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Chamber Players all guarantee a grand night of classical and original music.  While the 14th Street Playhouse is fun for the entire family.
