Lake Clair Real Estate

Lake Clair Real Estate is part of the Eastern area of Atlanta Georgia and has Candler Park, Kirkwood, Decatur and Druid Hills squarely surrounding it.  Where is the lake? You may well ask.  Lake Panceana has long since dried out. The beautiful neighborhood unit gets its name from the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Claire Drive.  There is a garden club called Lake Claire that started way back in the 1930´s and indeed this some say is where the name came from.

This you may find interesting, Lake Claire sits on the Sub-Continental Divide that separates the rivers that flow to the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.  The neighborhood is organizing a mural that will, when completed, show how the water flows from one and the other.  There is currently a huge volunteer drive known as the Watershed Mural Project to help finish the mural. There is one Elementary School, Mary Lin Elementary, which has a Disciplined Arts Based education, one Middle School, Samuel Innman Middle School, and one High School, Henry W. Grady High School which was named Outstanding School by U.S. News and World Reports.  The high school also has the distinguished title in the Georgia Schools of Excellence.  Lake Claire also has 3 private schools; Horizon Schools is a K-12 grade private school. Paideia private school accepts children 3 to 18 years of age and St. Thomas More School which is a K thru 8^th grade private school.

The cozy neighborhood also has three theatres for watching your favorite movies, one of them is an IMAX Theatre!

Lake Claire is also just a short way down DeKalb Avenue from the subway system going from East to West down to the connector to North and South at 5 Points.  There are 4 bus lines coming and going from Lake Claire and you can find out more by visiting their website at  Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.

There is no where in the neighborhood where you are allowed to drive over 35 miles per hour. In fact most of the simple tree lined streets are 25 miles per hour.  By the way, if you have a stop sign close to your home, the city would like to ask you to clean it once in a while as they do tend to get a bit dusty.

Lake Claire is also part of the PATH Foundation which is actively participating in the dream of beautiful, trials, walkways, bikeways and green belts throughout Atlanta. You can learn more about this wonderful organization by visiting their website at PATH Foundation. 

There is also a Lake Claire Homeowners Association, Book Club and Tree Climbing Society. The Tree Climbing Society meet at trees on the Arizona and New York Avenues the first and third Sunday of every month, weather permitting.
